Lucci Eatery
Ivanhoe
Designed to bring a sense of European warmth to a local suburban setting, Lucci Eatery reflects the ethos of its owners, the team behind the acclaimed Via Porta - elevated but approachable, familiar yet fresh.
The venue balances traditional charm with modern restraint, creating a setting that supports casual visits and leisurely meals. Working within a narrow tenancy with limited natural light the resolution enhances volume and flow through clever spatial planning and open sightlines. The street-facing façade and welcoming entry draw in passersby, while intimate dining pockets and flexible seating encourages comfort and repeat visits.

At the heart of Lucci is its open kitchen, which anchors the front dining room and invites diners to experience the theatre. The utilitarian material stainless steel is celebrated, challenging its often-clinical perception alongside warm timbers and earthy tones. This restrained and visually rich material strategy ensures visual cohesion - warm earthy tones, handcrafted timber details, and a tactile palette define an aesthetic that feels refined and grounded. The covered outdoor dining area provides a comfortable setting year-round and is an asset to the operations.
Rooted in its neighbourhood and designed for longevity, Lucci Eatery is a testament to how clever design can be achieved through constraint, clarity of concept, and deep alignment with brand and community. It stands as a model for small-scale, impactful design that is as operationally effective as it is emotionally resonant.
